Overview:
Pareto Principle states that for many outcomes, roughly 80% of consequences come from 20% of causes (law of the vital few). This shows that the relationship between the input and output is not balanced. That the majority of results come from a minority of inputs Pareto's observation was in connection with population and wealth, that approximately 80% of Italy's land was owned by 20% of the population. However, this law serves as a base for all different scenarios including productivity.

Pareto Principle in User Experience:

In the terms of UX, we can say thata relatively small number of things have a relatively significant impact.Pareto Principle is helping structure the user research through facts like 80% of users use only 20% of features or 80% of revenue is through 20% of products or 80% of error is due to 20% of code. As Pareto Principle is not set in stone, it serves more as a
principle and not a law.
Take away:
The 80/20 rule as its also known, is a productivity hack of sorts. As designers, 80% of our users use 20% of the features. We can use this principle to focus on specific user experiences that will in turn improvise the 80% of user journey.
